Amanda Yoshida and Adrianne Verla Uchida use collaborative ethnography to narrate their journeys as educators from their secondary to tertiary education positions, both getting advanced degrees while working.
About the Contributors
Amanda Yoshida (MA TESOL) has been teaching English in Japan since 2002. She is currently a Lecturer at Kanda University of International Studies. She received her MA TESOL from Anaheim University in 2013. Her current academic interests include classroom management, action research, and reflective practices. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her dog, cycling around town, and wrangling her children, in that order.
Adrianne Verla Uchida (MA TESOL) has been teaching English in Japan since 2004. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Nihon University in the College of International Relations. She received her MA TESOL from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2013. Her current academic interests include reflective practice and language learning psychology. As a recent new mother, she is currently pondering how to achieve a reasonable work-life balance.
