Other general news
In 2020, we became members of Crossref which is a not-for-profit organisation that makes “research outputs easy to find, cite, link, assess, and reuse.” We are gradually registering each book and chapter for a DOI number in order to make our authors’ work more accessible.
Two of our books became #1 best sellers in Japan immediately after their release dates:
- Foreign Female English Teachers in Japanese Higher Education: Narratives From our Quarter edited by Diane Hawley Nagatomo, Kathleen A. Brown, and Melodie L. Cook, shot to #1 in the categories of ‘Politics and Social Sciences’ and ‘Women’s Studies’. It also featured in an article by Joyce Lau in The Times Higher Education
- Expatriate Families and Education in Japan: Experiences, Issues, and Challenges edited by Melodie Lorie Cook and Louise George Kittaka was #1 for several weeks in the category of ‘Parenting.’ Both of the editors were also interviewed by J.J. Walsh on the livestream talkshow Seeking Sustainability
We launched a new series edited by Arthur Stuart Firkins: Communicating Risk in Systems, Communities, Organisations, and Professions. The series seeks to enrich and explore the potential of RISK as an overarching theme informing applied linguistic and discourse analytical research. Read more...
