This chapter examines the effects of teaching conversation strategies within the EFL context of a university setting in Japan. Unlike the previous chapter, a different approach is taken here. In this case, qualitative research based on an action research model was employed to measure the effects of instruction over a one-month period, as perceived by learners themselves.
