Chapter 12 Integrating AI and Traditional Tools: A Practical Approach to L2 Peer Review
Ibtesam Hussein and David Clark
Abstract
Peer feedback is an important component of ESL writing classes, yet engaging students in the process can be challenging. To address this, instructors should consider strategies to make peer feedback more engaging and effective for ESL writers. Incorporating AI into the classroom is one such promising approach. However, students should use AI with the instructor's guidance to ensure they use it effectively while still recognizing the importance of instructor support. This practice highlights the importance of balancing AI tools with traditional teaching methods and suggests that with proper guidance, students can build confidence and develop their writing skills.
