We are excited to announce that Dr. Anne McLellan Howard has joined the editorial team as the new series editor for our "Life and Education in Japan" series. Dr. McLellan Howard brings over 25 years of teaching experience in Japan, with a strong focus on teacher training, particularly in under-resourced classrooms. Her research interests span evaluation in academic discourse, language policy in Japan, and the challenges of teaching in a variety of contexts.
Dr. Howard is currently a professor at Miyazaki International University and also plays a pivotal role in supporting teachers internationally through her professional development workshops in Bangladesh. In addition to her academic work, she serves as chair of JALT’s Research Ethics Committee, ensuring ethical rigor in educational research in Japan.
Our "Life and Education in Japan" series continues to be a crucial resource for educators and expatriates navigating academic and professional life in Japan. Dr. Howard, alongside our long-standing editor Dr. Melodie Cook, will lead the series with a renewed focus on key themes including language education, academic challenges, and the unique experiences of living and working in Japan.
We are thrilled to have Dr. Howard's expertise guiding the series and look forward to the valuable contributions she will make to our ongoing work.
